Fulham School is inspected by Ofsted. The school’s most recent inspection took place in March 2020 and you can read the report below. Also available are two recent material change reports, authorising the school to provide GCSE and sixth-form provision, and endorsing the quality of governance and leadership at the school more generally.
The overall inspection commended many aspects of school life. Inspectors found that children make ‘a great start’ and ‘develop positive attitudes to learning which continue through the school’, helping them to ‘achieve highly’. They observed an ‘extensive programme... to enable pupils to make a positive contribution to society’. They saw pupils encouraged always ‘to be kind and respectful’ and in general behaviour that was ‘exemplary’. Fulham is a school where the ‘love of reading’ continues throughout and ‘an impressive programme of visits and inspirational speakers prepares pupils well for their future’.
Across the five categories under inspection, the school was awarded ‘Outstanding’ in its Early Years Provision and ‘Outstanding’ in the personal development of pupils in Pre-prep, Prep and Senior, with other areas and the overall effectiveness classed as ‘Good’.
Most heartening of all was the parent feedback inspectors received and chose to include. This is a school, parents noted, where pupils ‘learn through having fun’ and are ‘stretched not stressed’. We will always be fiercely ambitious for our pupils and challenge them to be the best versions of themselves. However, we will always do so believing in the value of childhood for its own sake; and believing our role above all is to encourage young people with the confidence and assurance to make the most of their lives and contribute as powerfully as they can to the society around them.
