2020 was the first year that Fulham School had a Year 11 graduating cohort, making this year’s class the first to sit GCSE exams. Despite the challenging year for schools across the globe, Fulham School, part of the Inspired Education Group, were able to continue to offer an outstanding education to their students both in the classroom and online. This ensured students were provided with the support needed to finish the course.

Head Teacher, Chris Cockerill, said, “Many congratulations to the inaugural class at Fulham on their superb GCSE results, an achievement for both students and teachers alike. In these unprecedented times, our students have endured the cancellation of exams and continued with their studies and academic enrichment through virtual learning. I am delighted with their performance, commitment and outstanding individual results.”

Highlights of the cohort's results include

  • 40% of student A*
  • 58% of students received A*/A
  • 100% of students received A*/C

Nick Wergan, Inspired's Global Education Director, added "such great success in these GCSE results underlines the excellence of this school, the depth of character and superb work ethic of its students, and the exceptional subject knowledge and skill of the teaching team. Students and teachers alike have had to innovate and adapt in this exceptional year and these excellent results reflect this determination and grit."

Graduating student, Jiachen, commented “The teachers, including the Head Teacher, worked tirelessly to ensure that we all had the best chance of getting exceptional grades and were prepared for the future. The lunchtime clinics gave me an academic boost and helped me to feel calm and ready for the exams. One really important lesson that I learned during my time at Fulham Senior is that education is much more than getting amazing grades, it's a way to guide us to becoming the very best versions of ourselves.”

As a part of Inspired's global network of schools, Fulham School was proud also to celebrate the success of their sister schools around the world.
